A fungi hike in Prospect Park, Sunday, Nov. 8

Earlier the same Sunday, from 11 a.m. to noon, Urban Park Rangers lead a mushroom identification hike from the Audubon Center at the Boathouse in Prospect Park. The walk goes into the woods to look at how to tell fungi apart and at the part mushrooms play in breaking down fallen wood and leaves. It is free with no registration. The Boathouse is on the park's east side by the Lullwater, about a 20-minute walk across the park from Grand Army Plaza.
