Pvolve, the strength and mobility workout company, is opening a studio in Chelsea. The company announced the new location on October 26, and the studio's own page names its future home as 191 Seventh Avenue. The page lists the studio as in presale, which means founding memberships are on offer now, ahead of an opening date that has not been published yet.

The company framed the opening as a way to grow its presence in New York, and the Chelsea studio puts its classes on the Seventh Avenue corridor, between the West Village and the West 20s.

What the classes are

Pvolve builds its workouts around three things: strength, mobility and stability. Classes run 50 minutes and use the company's own resistance equipment alongside weights. The Chelsea page lists four formats:

  • Sculpt, a low-impact session built on resistance tools.
  • Sculpt: Cardio, the same sculpting work with bursts of cardio mixed in.
  • Weight Training, which moves to heavier lifting and functional movements.
  • Sculpt: Core, deep core work on the mat and on its feet.

The company describes itself as a movement longevity brand and says its method is clinically tested. It has a clinical advisory board of physicians and trainers behind the programming.

A studio meant for staying a while

The Chelsea location is set up as more than a workout room. The studio page lists a cafe, a members' lounge, private lockers with towels provided, vanity stations stocked with toiletries and skincare, and a recovery area with a sauna and a cold plunge, plus showers. The company's announcement describes the space as somewhere members can work out, eat, socialize and spend a full day.

Who is opening it

The studio is a franchise, owned by Kristin Malta, a certified wellness coach who also owns The Foundry. According to the company, she and her husband run several other New York City businesses, including restaurants and real estate. She has a background in dance and fitness and first found Pvolve at the brand's seasonal residency at the Posthouse in Sag Harbor.

The company behind it

Rachel Katzman founded Pvolve in 2017, and the actor Jennifer Aniston became a partner in 2023. The company runs a streaming service alongside its studios and says it has more than 45 locations open across North America with more than 30 in development.

Founding memberships

The Chelsea page is taking founding members now. The benefits it lists are an early booking window, access to more than 1,800 on-demand and live virtual classes, and invitations to members-only events. Prices and the founding offer terms are shown through the page's offer form rather than published.
