The Old Stone House in Washington Park, the stone farmhouse on Third Street that the Vechte family commissioned in 1699 and that now tells the story of the Battle of Brooklyn, has a full two weeks on its calendar, from a toddler concert this Thursday to a new play about Fourth Avenue on November 12 and 13. Most of it is free.

Every Sunday

The farmers market at Old Stone House runs every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., year-round, alongside J.J. Byrne Playground's swings, the handball and basketball courts, the turf field and the dog run in Washington Park.

Getting there

The Old Stone House is at 336 Third Street, between Fourth and Fifth Avenues and Third and Fourth Streets. Take the R to Union Street, the F to Fourth Avenue, or the B63 bus. The permanent exhibit and the public restrooms are accessible; the upstairs gallery is up a flight of stairs with a railing on one side.
