Kat the Label, the lingerie and sleepwear brand from Melbourne, Australia, has opened its first permanent store in the United States at 242 Lafayette Street in SoHo. The shop opened on October 23, 2026, after a run of pop-up shops the brand held in New York City, and it is now open seven days a week.
The brand describes the Lafayette Street location as its U.S. flagship and a permanent home in SoHo, a step up from the temporary pop-ups that came before it. The store is set up for browsing, fittings and trying pieces on in person, along with private bridal appointments.
About the brand
Kate Nixon founded Kat the Label in Melbourne in 2015, starting out by hand-sewing pieces and packing orders from a spare bedroom. Anna Metcalfe joined the company in 2021 and is now a co-owner alongside Nixon, who serves as founder and creative director.
The label is known for lace lingerie sets, bralettes, bodysuits, bustiers, slips, robes and sleep sets, as well as bridal collections. Before opening its own U.S. store, the brand sold in the United States through retail partners including REVOLVE, Nordstrom, Anthropologie and Free People. Its only other listed store is in Armadale, a suburb of Melbourne.
What is in the SoHo store
The New York shop carries the brand's range of lingerie, sleepwear and accessories. Current collections listed on the brand's site include a Holiday Drop, a collaboration with Lucy Jackson, a Marilyn Monroe collection, and a bridal collection called NYC Runaway Bride, with pieces in black, white, blue and red.
Product categories include underwire and bralette sets, bras, thongs and briefs, garters and tights, sleep sets, camisoles, shorts and pants, robes, slips and slippers. Sizes run from XS through 3X in most styles. A few current examples and their listed prices:
- Paisley Set in Bloom: $150
- Annie Set in Lipstick: $95
- Maverick Set in Red: $90
Sizing and custom touches
Because the brand is Australian, its size charts list both letter sizes and Australian numbers. A size XS corresponds to an Australian 6, S to an 8, M to a 10, L to a 12, XL to a 14, 2X to a 16 and 3X to an 18. Underwire styles are labeled by letter size with matching band and cup ranges, running from XS (Australian 8A-B and 10AA-A) up to 3X (Australian 14G and 16E-F), and some styles add a 2S size for fuller cups on smaller bands. Trying pieces on in the store means shoppers can check fit before buying, rather than converting sizes at home.
The brand's menu also lists an embroidery option under the heading Make It Custom, along with sleepwear sets that can carry embroidery. Shoppers interested in personalizing a robe or sleep set for a gift can ask the store team about current options.
Bridal Suite appointments
For brides and brides-to-be, the SoHo store offers private Bridal Suite appointments. The brand lists a personalized shopping session for the bride and her bridesmaids or friends, with a complimentary bottle of bubbles. Appointments are booked through the brand's New York store page. The bridal lineup includes lingerie, sleep sets, slips, robes, accessories and gifts for the wedding party.
Loyalty and online orders
Shoppers can join the brand's Sunday Society loyalty program to earn points on purchases and get early access to sales and new releases. Online orders over $75 ship free, according to the brand's site.
