Vitaly Beckman, the illusionist who fooled Penn & Teller on their TV show Fool Us, is bringing his show to Flushing Meadows Corona Park for one weekend. VITALY: An Evening of Wonders plays Queens Theatre on Saturday, November 14, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 15, at 2 p.m.

What the show is

Vitaly works where art and illusion meet. In this show, photos and paintings come to life, and the faces of audience members disappear from their own driver's licenses. The evening is built around his own story, from a boy with a dream to a working illusionist, and its theme is finding wonder in everyday life.

His résumé, as Queens Theatre lists it, includes a run in Times Square and his own 16-week off-Broadway engagement. Queens Theatre presents it as part of its family series, and the theater recommends the show for ages 12 and up.

Tickets

Tickets are $40 to $45, which includes a $2 service fee per ticket. Mail delivery, where it is offered, adds $5 per order. Both performances are in the Claire Shulman Theater, the main house at Queens Theatre.

Getting there

Queens Theatre is at 14 United Nations Avenue South in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, under the towers of the New York State Pavilion. The nearest subway stop is Mets-Willets Point on the 7 line. Riders coming from other lines can transfer to the 7 at Court Square (E, M and G), Queensboro Plaza (N and W) or 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue (E, F, M and R).

For Queens Theatre Presents shows, which this is, the theater runs a free shuttle between the theater and the Mets-Willets Point station, starting one hour before curtain. The 7 often has service changes on nights and weekends, and the theater suggests checking the MTA's planned work page before setting out, especially for the Saturday evening show.

Also coming up at Queens Theatre

A week later, on Sunday, November 22, from noon to 4 p.m., Queens Theatre and WQXR present the WQXR Classical Kids Fair, which requires registration on the theater's site.
