Chelsea Market at 75 Ninth Avenue has a charity shoe sale, a hands-on raw bar class, live Moroccan music and a Latin dance night lined up between Wednesday, October 21 and Saturday, October 24, 2026. A few blocks away, The Joyce Theater on Eighth Avenue opens a six-day run by London City Ballet on Tuesday, October 27. Here is the week in Chelsea, with dates, times and prices where the organizers list them.
Shoes for a Cure, October 21 to 25
Shoes for a Cure sets up inside Chelsea Market from Wednesday, October 21 through Sunday, October 25. The market lists more than 8,000 pairs of shoes and bags donated by over 50 brands, with boots, sneakers, loafers, hiking shoes, heels, backpacks and totes for women, men and children. Proceeds go to doctors and research teams working on a cure for breast cancer. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The event listing gives two different closing times for Sunday (5 p.m. and 6 p.m.), so plan to arrive before 5 p.m. that day. More about the organization is at shoesforacure.org.
Cello at Midday, Wednesday
Sean Grissom, who performs as the Cajun Cellist, plays in Chelsea Market's main concourse on Wednesdays from noon to 3 p.m. His next set is Wednesday, October 21. There is no ticket; it is a walk-up performance in the market's central hallway.
Build a Seafood Tower at Lobster Place, Thursday
On Thursday, October 22, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the culinary team at Lobster Place Seafood Hall teaches a small-group class on shucking oysters and assembling a raw bar seafood tower. The class is capped at 16 people and costs $99 per guest plus tax. Tickets are sold through the event page on the Chelsea Market website.
Moroccan Andalusian Music, Friday
The shop Imports from Marrakesh is hosting Rachid Halihal and the Moroccan Andalusian Ensemble of New York on Friday evenings through October, from 7 to 9 p.m. Halihal performs with his students inside the shop. This week's session is Friday, October 23, and the final October date is Friday, October 30. The shop describes the evenings as open to all.
Chelsea Baila Social Club, Saturday
The Chelsea Local, the market's event space, hosts the Chelsea Baila Social Club on Saturday, October 24, from 8 to 11:30 p.m. The night starts at 8 p.m. with a Latin dance lesson that requires no experience, followed by salsa, merengue and bachata from DJ Gagou. Tickets go on sale through the market's event page at noon on the Wednesday of the event week, which this time is October 21. The series continues on November 7, November 21, December 5 and December 19.
Early Halloween Movies at Creamline
Creamline, the diner counter inside Chelsea Market, starts a run of Halloween movie screenings at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 24 with Hotel Transylvania. Casper follows on October 29, The Nightmare Before Christmas on October 30, and Ghostbusters on October 31. On Halloween itself, the market plans all-day trick-or-treating from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., free face painting in the Chelsea Local from 2 to 8 p.m., and a second movie lineup at Dickson's Farmstand Meats.
London City Ballet at The Joyce, Starting October 27
The Joyce Theater, at 175 Eighth Avenue at 19th Street, presents London City Ballet from Tuesday, October 27 through Sunday, November 1. The company, a former resident company of Sadler's Wells, is bringing two mixed programs.
Program A (October 27, October 28 and October 31 at 7:30 p.m.) includes Mephisto Waltz by Ashley Page, Soon by Tasha Chu, Jerome Robbins's Quiet City, and John Neumeier's Ghost Light with guest artist Alina Cojocaru. The Joyce says the run marks the first New York staging of Quiet City since 1991. Program A runs 1 hour and 45 minutes with intermission.
Program B (October 29 and October 30 at 7:30 p.m., plus 2 p.m. matinees on October 31 and November 1) pairs Mephisto Waltz with Soft Shore by Florent Melac, performed with live music, and Glen Tetley's Firebird, revived in Tetley's centenary year. It runs 1 hour and 25 minutes with intermission.
The Wednesday, October 28 performance includes a Curtain Chat, the theater's post-show conversation. The Joyce notes the performances contain haze. As of Monday, October 19, the two earliest Program A dates were marked as limited availability on the theater's website.
