The New York Comedy Festival opens Friday, November 6, and runs for ten days, through Sunday, November 15. The festival lists more than 100 shows and more than 200 comedians across all five boroughs. A good share of the biggest rooms are on the Upper West Side: the Beacon Theatre at Broadway and 74th Street has five festival nights, and David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center has one.

At the Beacon Theatre

  • Sunday, November 8: Marc Maron.
  • Thursday, November 12: Jordan Jensen.
  • Friday, November 13: Ilana Glazer.
  • Saturday, November 14: Daniel Sloss, with his show Bitter.
  • Sunday, November 15: Mojo Brookzz closes the festival's run at the theater.

The Beacon is at 2124 Broadway, a block from the 72 St station on the 1, 2 and 3 trains.

At David Geffen Hall

Stand Up for Heroes plays David Geffen Hall on Monday, November 9. It is the one Upper West Side festival date that falls on a weeknight between the two weekends. Geffen Hall is on the Lincoln Center campus at Broadway and 65th Street, next to the 66 St-Lincoln Center station on the 1 train.

The rest of the festival

The opening weekend's largest shows are downtown and in Midtown. Dave Chappelle plays Madison Square Garden on November 6 and 7. The Town Hall on West 43rd Street hosts Joanne McNally's Netflix special taping on November 7, Sarah Sherman and Patti Harrison on November 8, Adam Friedland on November 13, and Jordan Klepper on November 14. Kings Theatre in Brooklyn has Dropout Improv on November 13, and BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center has Matt Rogers and Dave Mizzoni's Gayme Show on November 6.

Two shows cost nothing. NBC's centennial is part of this year's lineup, and both of the network's festival events at The Venue on Music Row in the Hard Rock Hotel are free with an RSVP: The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins on November 14 and The Next Great NBC Comedy on November 15.

Tickets

The festival does not post prices on its own site. Each show links out to its seller, which is Ticketmaster for most of the theater dates. Every listing is on the festival's lineup page, which is the place to check for added shows and sellouts before heading to the Beacon.
