Brunch, the New York footwear label known for slippers modeled on the ones hotels leave by the bed, has opened a store at 251 Elizabeth Street in Nolita. The brand's stores page calls the shop its new home in the neighborhood and lists it as its only store. It is open every day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The address is on Elizabeth Street between East Houston and Prince Streets. The store page, with photos of the finished interior, went up on the brand's site this week.

What is inside

The centerpiece of the shop is an embroidery bar. Shoppers pick a style, choose initials or a small icon, and have it stitched while they wait; the brand says it takes minutes. Online, Brunch lists embroidery as a $30 add-on. The store carries the brand's three main materials: terry cloth, which is the fabric of its original slipper; suede, for pairs meant to be worn outside; and shearling for colder months.

Prices on the brand's site give a sense of the range. The Essential terry slipper, its core style, is $98. Suede loafers and the Boat Mule are $160. Shearling-lined versions of the Essential run $125 in terry and $145 in suede, and an all-shearling version is $150. Brunch also makes terry robes ($180), kids' slippers ($88), pajamas and other apparel, and has released collaborations with Hello Kitty and with the Yankees and Dodgers, including shearling loafers in team colors.

About the brand

Brunch describes itself as a New York-based lifestyle brand built around comfort footwear and the idea of hotel and vacation leisure carried into everyday life. Its pitch is a shoe with the softness of an indoor slipper and a sole durable enough to wear on the street. The company's office is on West 39th Street in Manhattan, and it also sells through its own website.

Sizing and care

Brunch labels every product in men's sizes. Its guidance is that most styles run true to size and that women converting from men's sizing should go up one size; adult pairs are cut in half-size ranges from men's 4 to 14.5. Kids' slippers come in smaller children's and youth sizes. The terry slippers can be cleaned by hand with a damp towel and detergent, or run through a cold washing machine cycle with other towels and then air dried, according to the brand.

For online orders, the brand offers returns and free exchanges within 30 days of delivery on domestic orders, with an $8 restocking fee on returns, and free domestic shipping on orders of $180 or more. Bulk and custom orders go through a separate special orders email.
