Delmonico's Hospitality Group, the company that owns the historic Delmonico's restaurant downtown, opened Boogie Bakery & Bistro at 4015 Broadway in Washington Heights on Thursday, Oct. 15. It is the first restaurant in the United States from Boogie, a European sourdough brand, and it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Bread baked in view
The bakery side runs on sourdough. The dough is flour, water and salt, with no commercial yeast and no additives, and loaves are shaped and baked by hand throughout the day in an open kitchen that guests can watch from the counter. Boogie uses a patented European fermentation method that the company says produces true sourdough in about three to four hours.
The menu
Breads and focaccia anchor the counter, alongside sandwiches and pastries. The bistro builds a dinner menu around the same dough, including sourdough pasta and pizza, with bakery and bistro plates. Executive Chef Adam Plitt leads the menu, and Dennis Turcinovic is owner and executive culinary partner.
Hours
- Bakery: daily, 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Bistro: Monday through Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m.
The restaurant also sells gift cards and hosts private events.
How it got here
The project was first announced in November 2025 under the name Boogie Lab, with an opening aimed at spring 2026. Boogie has since begun selling its bread wholesale and plans a production facility in New Jersey this fall, but the Washington Heights shop will keep baking on site every day.
Getting there
4015 Broadway is a short walk from the 168 Street station, served by the 1, A and C trains.
