Snoopy has five siblings, and this weekend they are on West Broadway helping shelter pets find homes. Best Friends Animal Society is hosting a two-day Peanuts pop-up at its pet adoption center at 307 West Broadway, today and tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days.

What is at the pop-up

Best Friends lists the following for the weekend:

  • Tote bag and hat giveaways from the Peanuts and Best Friends collaboration
  • Photo opportunities with Snoopy's siblings
  • A Best Friends hat sold only at the pop-up, while supplies last
  • The adoption center's dogs and cats, available to meet

Entry requires an RSVP. Visitors who sign up on the Best Friends event page receive a QR code by email to show at the door, and anyone who registers also gets early access to limited-edition Peanuts and Best Friends merchandise.

Spike, Belle, Olaf, Andy and Marbles

The pop-up is part of a partnership Best Friends and Peanuts announced on Aug. 3, built around Snoopy's siblings: Spike, Belle, Olaf, Andy and Marbles. The campaign runs over several months and includes a public service announcement, limited-edition merchandise and adoption events like this one. Best Friends frames the campaign around the idea that every pet deserves to be loved for who it is.

Who runs the center

Best Friends Animal Society is a national no-kill animal welfare nonprofit founded in 1984 and based in Kanab, Utah. Its New York adoption center sits on West Broadway just north of Canal Street, at the southern edge of SoHo.

For a SoHo resident who has been thinking about adopting, the weekend is a chance to meet the center's animals with a little extra going on. For anyone else, it is a free stop with a Peanuts photo on the way through the neighborhood.
