AOZUKIN — The Blue Hood | November 7–8
Experience a haunting fusion of Japanese storytelling, contemporary dance, and live music in an intimate East Village art space.
Inspired by Ueda Akinari's 18th-century Japanese tale from Ugetsu Monogatari, AOZUKIN explores grief, desire, obsession, and the mysterious boundary between the human and the monstrous.
Created by Japanese performance artist Cay Izumi, this interdisciplinary production combines contemporary dance, Butoh-influenced movement, live violin, English narration, and immersive visuals.
The approximately one-hour performance is followed by a social gathering with music and guest artists.
Two performances:
Saturday, November 7 — 7:00 PM (doors at 6:30 PM)
Sunday, November 8 — 4:00 PM
Location: Ideal Glass Atelier, 22 E 2nd St, Manhattan
Tickets: Starting at $20
